Okay, so Halloween weekend took a lot out of everybody! Lots of money and energy were probably spent on costumes, tickets, drinks and cab rides...so this week I thought it would be cool to focus on the bars that are chill and welcoming every weekend.
Here are some tips on how to kick back, have a good time and not have to make the weekend such a huge production.
There's a new place in PB called Dirty Birds. It's right off of Mission Blvd and Emerald Street. Besides the hometown bar vibe, the real reason I wanted to mention this place is because of the wings and burgers! Now I know there's other places that say they have good chicken wings - but this place seriously makes my mouth water when I think of their menu. They've got lemon pepper wings, Diablo wings, BBQ wings, even wings on the menu simply called "OUCH"...mmmmm they're all amazing but I'm a huge fan of the lemon pepper wings. When you think of bar food people usually make a, "eh" face. But here - bar food takes on a whole new meaning. I went in Monday to watch the football game and I even saw Vincent Jackson at the bar. Turns out he's one of the investors for this place and he's in there all the time. The bartenders are very welcoming and the regulars keep coming back.
One of my favorite chill spots is Fleetwood - located in downtown San Diego.
The 2008 list of the “20 Most Beautiful People in San Diego” is a perfect example that everyone has an entire different viewpoint on beauty. After all, this list came together after Red Rope Reviews researched who in San Diego is not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside.

Just like People has their 50 Most Beautiful, Maxim has their Hot 100, Red Rope Reviews has deliberated and determined the final selections for the 20 Most Beautiful People in San Diego Nightlife for 2008. Here they are in no particular order:
Melissa Danekas
As the owner of the trendiest nail & skin boutique in town, Melissa put the entire salon together with a vision of making other women feel comfortable and beautiful. Beyond having an amazing staff, the salon is a complete package with the most state of the art spa baths and a full-service esthetician. She’s engaged to Mike Viscuso, owner of On Broadway, Belo and Deco’s and very involved in San Diego’s nightlife culture. Additionally, she is a mother and unarguably one of the hottest icons in the scene, not to mention one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.
Lacy Young
She’s one of the most well-known hard bodies at 24 hr fitness in Pacific Beach. Her rocking body and ever-present smile make it difficult to miss her around town. Lacy loves to have a good time. She’s a Wavehouse Sundaze regular and recently finished up an amazing spread with MGA Photo. We like her because she is committed to looking great and having a good time.
Sarah Renne
As one of the youngest salon owners in San Diego, Sarah opened Disconnected Salon in North Park in late 2006. If you’ve never met her we recommend you schedule your appointment today. Her style is ridiculous and she looks like a doll (and “Jen” from Dawson’s Creek). If you’re looking for a new stylist or not we highly recommend you head over to the salon, have a seat at the disco-bar, and at least get a consult with this uber-accomplished hair genius.
Patricia Khoury
As Envy VIP Services Manager, this woman has left her professional mark all over the downtown nightlife scene. We love that no matter how her night is going or how busy she is at one of the most exclusive hot spots in San Diego, Patricia treats everyone like family and always has a smile. She always does her best to get everyone taken care of and we chose her because she runs the smoothest door in town.
Lara Hardy
Alright, we did pick her because of her stunning looks, but we also picked her because she is a total sweetheart. She is the face of the Wavehouse Sundaze marketing campaign, a Red Rope Reviews cover model, has been featured in Revolt Magazine and shot with all of the hottest photographers in So Cal, namely the acclaimed Michael Vincent. In case you’ve ever been too intimidated to say, “Hello!” to her we recommend you do next time you get the chance – she is always put together, polite and classy. Sorry boys, she’s married.
Geena the Latina
As the only female voice on “San Diego’s Hit Music” Channel 933’s morning show, AJ’s Playhouse, Geena is a girl who can hold her own with the boys. Always providing great female perspective and keeping us constantly laughing, Geena is also heavily involved in the community dedicating herself to many worthwhile causes. You can check her out every morning from 6am– 10am. Her popularity was proven when hundreds voted for her as Red Rope Review's Prom Queen on San Diego Prom Night at Stingaree in March 2008.
Mai Spieldenner
She is the Owner and proud operator of USA Girls Next Door, a full-service modeling and promotions firm based in Mission Valley. She is the fiancé of Dan Fleyshman, owner of Who’s Your Daddy Energy Drink and Platinum Collections – talk about a power couple! We appreciate that she’s committed to beauty and brains, always supplying top of the line talent.
Jessie Erwin
This 23 year old hottie is pushing up on the 3 years mark as a hairstylist in San Diego. She's one of the most passionate hair stylists in San Diego and her gorgeous clients are seen everywhere around town to prove it. Her stunning outer beauty locked her in as one of the top 20, but Jessie's inner beauty doesn't go unseen, she's a loving wife and a devoted family girl. Andy Farnsworth
Better known to the masses and his endless list of clientele as “Sober Andy,” this blue-eyed guy is one of the best known VIP hosts in San Diego. You can find him at the Ivy every weekend making things happen. With his lovely array of door hostesses, Andy has become an icon and recognizable face in the nightlife scene. Originally responsible for the famed “Ruby Thursdays” at hot-spot no longer, SideBar, this guy is never on a power trip and always trying to make sure everyone is having a good time. Oh and he’s never had a drink of alcohol in the 30 years he’s been on this earth!
Pat and Chris English
Known to everyone in San Diego as “The Twins” these two both stand well over 6 feet tall, are college grads and throw some of the best parties in town! As partners of DJ Here Productions, Pat and Chris have hosted events at and blown the roof off every major venue in town. With one of the largest followings in San Diego, DJ Here always promises its patrons great music, an upscale atmosphere and the best service in town.
Eric Joseph
Eric Joseph is not only one of Stingaree's best looking bartenders, but he has gone through a lot this year and shines through his inner beauty and strength. As the survivor of a P.B. shooting, he appreciates life and the people around him even more than he did before. Eric would be intimidating if it weren't for his extremely nice, humble, friendly personality. He's 25, originally from Queens, New York and currently single. So all you sexy stalkers, Friday and Saturday nights at Stingaree is the place to find him.
Danielle Gano
Everyone loves a young entreprenour - Danielle is not only young, but she is beautiful and accomplished, which is why she made our list. Danielle founded Elle Communications in San Diego. Elle represents people and organizations in the industries of art and entertainment and has developed campaigns for various museums, musicians, artists, fashion shows, philanthropic organizations and fundraisers, radio programs, nightclubs, restaurant and digital media.
Dan Krieg
Dan Krieg didn't just make our list this year because of his fantastic dimples - he actually puts that smile to use in business every weekend. Spicing up San Diego nightlife, Dan created Encore Entertainment, a production company in San Diego that hosts parties at Envy, Belo, Aubergine and more. Dan Krieg's hard work has paid off as his company is taking off in SD nightlife.

Jamie Lynn Sigler, partner at J Public Relations is a publicist and marketing communications specialist who has worked with some of the finest hotels, restaurants and consumer products in Southern California.
Not only is she beautiful, but she's committed to her community. Jamie has provided pro bono work to several civic organizations giving her major inner beauty points.

Careful boys, this beauty could litterally knock you off your feet - with a punch that is. Gina is a manager at American Boxing in PB. If you wanna catch this beauty in action you better be ready for a work out! She made our list because she's hot, in a "don't mess with me" kinda way!

This sexy Firehouse manager makes the cut this year...and although you may want to see him in a firefighter getup, sliding down a fiehouse pole - we're actually talking about the Firehouse Bar & Grill in Pacific Beach. His signature blue eyes and respect within the nightlife industry earned Mattie "Blue Eyes" a well deserved spot on our top 20 list.
DJ Schoeny
It's not every day you get to see a great DJ who also makes the front page of magazine covers - with his shirt off?! That's right - we're talking about DJ Schoeny on the cover of Revolt Magazine. This up and coming DJ is rattling San Diego not only with his sick beats - but with his six pack!
James
Currently the night club manager at Stingaree, James aka "Big Game" has worked in the nightlife industry for the past 8+ years. He says he enjoys it more than any other job he's ever had. James is 6'5 and by far one of the hottest and most noticeable nightclub managers in San Diego.
Nima
If the photo on the left looks familiar, it's probably because Nima has made an appearance at some of the most popular nightclubs in San Diego. As a leading VIP host, Nima makes our list because of his great style and nightlife reputation. He's shot photos with our famous supermodel photographer, Michael Vincent and is heading up VIP at the new Sin nightclub downtown.
